This letter was written after the Linds had moved into their new apartment. Of course they took all their stuff with them. So we no longer had a TV, Microwave or a washing machine. At this time we were getting into the rhythm of helping our friend Paul Logan with his ministry in his office.
Hello Mom
Today Alan went to
the office while I stayed home to wash some clothes. I had to wash
them by hand and my hands got tired and wrinkly while wringing them out by
hand. A few of the shirts I ironed them wet and hung them up to dry the rest of
the way. I need to buy some more clothes pins. The plastic ones keep breaking.
I guess I don’t know my own strength. I will truly appreciate a washer when we
get one.
I was hoping that it would be
sunny today to help dry the clothes faster but it is overcast. I hope it
doesn’t rain. We purchased a clothes rack for the clothes to dry indoors and I
can set up the fan to blow on them. That will be plan B.
So before I leave the house I
wanted to write you a letter. I walk right by the post office when I go to the
office to work.
I will probably get there in time to
eat lunch!
There is a team coming from
Arizona on Saturday and they are going to go to the same place we went last
year as well as where Alan went in July. I need to make some welcome
baskets for them that includes fruit, yogurt, nuts, chocolate and a card that
they will find in their rooms. Paul has a list of all the items I need to get
for them. He has done this before. They are staying at a different hotel then
we did. It is nearer to the airport. Since we are making seven baskets I think
we will be helping Paul deliver them.
I don’t have
a clear sense of what else is needed to be done concerning our missionary work
so we take one day at a time. I need to
make time to study before our teacher comes again on Thursday night. I want to
learn the
language so I can communicate
better with our neighbors and those we meet when out in town. I get confused
with some of the letters because they look like English letters but they aren't
the same and some are just different. мать spells mother.

Russian letters.)
Alan’s keyboard is set up to
type both English and Russian on the computer. With some study I WILL learn
this. Alan just loves to study and it is funny that he is the “teacher’s pet”
because he is so eager to be the best student. He is a professional student!
Well, it is getting time for me
to get ready to go.
I love you. Y
I am so thankful we have our
weekly phone calls and the opportunity to send letters. If you get your WebTV
set up again we could email everyday with messages of what is happening.
Please remember you are in my
thoughts and prayers.
